Olivienne Asha Buckmiller is ready for her close-up!!



Our little Kung-fu Princess has arrived -- safely, healthily, and finally!!


Born on Thursday, 20 November 2008 at 2.50 pm, she weighed 7 lbs 3 ozs and was 18.25 inches long. The delivery went smoothly (well, I only got hysterical once when my legs were first going numb, but I instantly calmed down once Mick got in the room!). And Mick was totally amazing at supporting me throughout the quick procedure. Holding my hand and wiping down my forehead, I only needed to focus on his smile and presence, and I was completely reassured that everything was alright. Once I saw and heard her, an indescribable, unbelievable, unimaginable, incomparable feeling doused my entire everything. I had no idea that I could feel that much power, emotion and energy all at once. It was pure love.


We're home now, after 4 days at the hospital, and it's so great to be here. The dogs are adjusting alright, though they are still so very curious at this creature who constantly sighs and coos and cries like something they've never experienced before. And that's just Mick! ;)


So enjoy these pictures we have here- it was so hard to choose from the 1,200 Mick took over the course of her first 3 days in this world with us. But, looking at her, can you blame him??

   Thank you all so much for every one of your wonderful wishes! We are so excited and exhilarated that Olivienne is here, born healthy and safely. After 10 months of wondering when the nausea, discomfort and unknown-ness of parenthood would end, we have finally ended one kind of journey to start a new remarkable one.
