After a successful lumbar endoscopic discectomy (English translation: back surgery) in August, I'm finally moderately back to sort of normalish. I can walk (slowly), sit (at 135 degree angle), and laydown. Yes, I'm like a newly trained puppy. It'll still be a little while yet until all systems are at full-go, but it's looking like all the limping and shooting pains are gone- hopefully for good. Hurray for the miracles of medical technology and killer pain meds.
... to love and be loved marks true happiness ...
'Natasha, to love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love. But, then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love, to be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy, therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness, I hope you're getting this down.'

hey there! heard the news through the grapevine. first things first, wooohooo!!! congratulations to you and mick and our prayers for a healthy "lima bean". we're so happy to hear the news. now for some words of advice - don't fall for those anti-nausea lollipops/candies - they don't work, period. check out this prenatal system called "BabyPlus". we used it for Iliana when i was pregnant and she's just a great talker now. shop for clothes at maternity exchange, great way to get hip maternity clothes for half the price. UCSF has the best birth & delivery nurses in the city...the birthing center has an awesome view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city!!!
guess this is all i can think of for now. i'm sure you will be inundated by all kinds of advise. we're praying for you and the baby. best regards to mick.
